Itinerary
Overview:
The Mekong Delta (Đồng bằng Sông Cửu Long, which literally translates to Nine Dragon river delta), is the region in southwestern Vietnam where the Mekong River approaches and empties into the sea.
You leave Ho Chi Minh City heading south to the Mekong Delta, Vietnam’s largest rice bowl region. You will embark on a boat cruise navigating around the small, intricate canals of the delta region, you will pass the Mekong’s endless, lush green vegetation, finally arriving at Unicorn Island. Next stop is the Ben Tre Province, then back to Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 1:
Around 8:00AM, we will head out of Ho Chi Minh City for the roads leading south to the Mekong Delta, Vietnam’s largest rice bowl region. Upon arrival in My Tho, you will embark on a boat cruise navigating around the small, intricate canals of the delta region: a great way to observe the local lifestyles close-up and the numerous islands dotting the area.
During this exciting excursion, you will pass the Mekong’s endless lush green vegetation, ultimately arriving at the famous Unicorn Island. Here you will have the opportunity to stroll around an orchard, taste many seasonal fruits and enjoy some traditional Vietnamese music.
The next stop of the trip is the Ben Tre Province, where we will visit some fascinating local industries and enjoy a local Vietnamese lunch. After leaving Ben Tre, we will make our way back to Ho Chi Minh City.
